The Offensive Cutthroat Drill And Instilling Good Habits In Players

In 2x Iowa State Champion Coach Ryan Schultz Offensive Cutthroat Drill... whichever team scores the most baskets wins... Simple enough...

But here's the catch...

The offense loses possession if they don't score... or commit a non-negotiable error.

As you'll see in the video below... Coach Schultz has 6 non-negotiables that are most important for his offense...

But you can substitute those for whichever concepts and habits are most essential for your unique style of play!

And one of the best parts of this drill is the fact that you can keep the same non-negotiables from practice to practice or change them when you need to emphasize another concept with your team.

One last tip. Coach Schultz has been running this drill for years. When you first implement this drill, you may want to start with 2-3 non-negotiables with your team. You can add more as you and your team get comfortable running this drill.

This video was taken from Coach Schultz's tutorial on How to Run Championship Practices.
