Lead Instructor - Ryan Wockenfus

Ryan Wockenfus joined the Hamline men’s basketball coaching staff before the 2021-22 campaign, and will embark on his third season as assistant coach in 2023-24.His main duties will include player development, recruiting, scouting, and operations.
 
Wockenfus came to Hamline after spending five seasons as an assistant coach at Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin. Before Lawrence, Wockenfus spent a season with Marian University, and three seasons at Saint Mary’s in Winona.
 
In addition to his collegiate coaching experience, Wockenfus has also coached an AAU team as well as a variety of youth camps.
 
Wockenfus played basketball and was a member of the track and field team at Saint Mary’s where he graduated with a degree in Elementary Education in 2011. While at SMU, Wockenfus played in 46 career games on the basketball court as well as earning two All-MIAC honors in the javelin for the track team. His 53.15-meter javelin throw is the current school record.
 
In 2015, Wockenfus earned a Master of Arts degree in management, also from Saint Mary’s.
