Lead Instructor - Jon Hawkins


Hawkins enters his eighth season as a coach with the NNU men's basketball program in 2022-23, spending the first six as an assistant before earning a promotion to associate head coach during the summer of 2021.

During the seven years of his tenure, the Nighthawks have gone 93-78, including a 60-33 mark over the last three seasons. In the 2020-21 campaign, NNU earned a selection to the NCAA DII Tournament for the first time in program history and won a pair of games to reach the Sweet 16.

Before rejoining the NNU family in 2015, Hawkins played in the Gold Coast’s Intensity Super league, one of the top summer leagues in Australia. He then toured with AIA to Israel after playing half a season in the top league in Latvia for Jurmalas-Fenikss.

During two seasons as a student-athlete at NNU, Hawkins averaged 11.2 points per game, dished out 182 assists and led all NCAA Division II players with a 94.1 free-throw shooting percentage in the 2012-13 season.
