Lead Instructor - Derrick DeWitt

Coach DeWitt was selected to be the Head Girls Basketball at Marietta High School in April 2019. He was charged with elevating the basketball program, instructing physical education classes, and developing middle school coaches and teams, lead a staff of six coaches. Now entering his 14th season has a high school head coach and his 16th year as a Georgia Educator, Coach DeWitt is excited for his fourth season as the head coach of the Marietta Lady Blue Devils.

Coach DeWitt is a certified Physical Education, Math & Special Education teacher who earned his M.A.T. from Brenau University. Coach DeWitt played Division-1 Basketball for Stetson University where he ranks #3 in all-time three-pointers made and played in over 100 games as a Hatter.

An avid reader and podcast subscriber, DeWitt enjoys acquiring leadership skills from autobiographies and stories. DeWitt’s current recommendations are Work Life Podcast, Catching Confetti by Bret Burchard, and Rapture by Nick Nurse.

Coach DeWitt is married to Renee DeWitt, also a Stetson graduate who played basketball for the Lady Hatters. Coach DeWitt is a Girl Dad of two daughters, Leah and Alana who are Marietta student-athletes. Newly arrived baby boy, Derrick Jr., joined the family in August.
