Alex Ward-Hibbert, formerly Alex Haley, a Libertyville High School native, showcased her basketball prowess as she donned the Wildcats’ jersey from 2008 to 2012. During her exceptional tenure at Libertyville, she played an instrumental role in leading the Wildcats to three consecutive conference championships. Her stellar performances earned her well-deserved recognition with All-Conference and All-Area honors, solidifying her status as a standout athlete.

Alex Ward-Hibbert, a prominent figure in the world of basketball, brings a wealth of experience and a profound passion for the game. As a former college scholarship player at Minot State and Lindenwood University, she showcased a multifaceted skill set that made a significant impact on the court. Alex was widely recognized for her exceptional offensive abilities, earning her the distinguished title of Best Offensive Player at Minot State. Additionally, she played a pivotal role in leading Lindenwood University to their first-ever conference tournament semi-final appearance in 2017, further solidifying her impact as a leader and player.

Her defensive tenacity was unparalleled, often disrupting opponents’ plays and showcasing a relentless defensive mindset. Alex’s playing style was characterized by her intense determination and grit, traits that translated into her on-court presence. Renowned for her versatile skills, she was a formidable force on both ends of the court. Her defensive prowess was complemented by an aggressive offensive mindset, particularly known for her midrange game, demonstrating an impressive scoring ability that added a layer of dynamism to her team’s play.

Her journey continued as she transitioned into the professional sphere, honing her abilities in England’s basketball scene. Over the course of four illustrious years, Alex secured two championship victories in the WBBL, solidifying her reputation as a standout player. Her exceptional performance, averaging an impressive 30 points per game in the NBL Division 2 league, led her to clinch the runner-up spot for MVP in the league. Notably, during her professional playing career, Alex simultaneously coached for Charnwood Academy, the nation’s top academy program, aiding players in reaching their dreams of playing in college.

Eager to share her knowledge and contribute to the sport’s development, Alex assumed the esteemed head coaching position at the University of Oxford. Her dedication and expertise guided her team to remarkable achievements during her tenure, including the university’s most winningest season in 10 years.
