Lead Instructor - Aaron Young


Coach Aaron Young was born and raised in Oklahoma, graduating from Edmond Memorial HS in 2013. He played on two 6A State Championship basketball teams and one 6A State Runner-up team. He also ran track at Edmond Memorial High School. The son of Rick and LaSonya Young, his dad is in the Shawnee Basketball Hall of Fame.

He then went on to be a three-year letterwinner at Oral Roberts. He played in 90 games for coach Scott Sutton, averaging more than six points and 1.5 assists per game. He finished his career with more than 100 made 3-pointers and ranked third for the Golden Eagles in career 3-point percentage at 41.5 percent. He had a career-high 29 points at Denver in January. In 2017, he earned his Bachelor of Science in sport and fitness administration/management, while also served on SAAC and was in the NASCAR Sports Marketing Program.

Young spent the last three years coaching at the high school level, including working with Team Buddy Buckets, a 16U team sponsored by the NBA Sacramento Kings’ Buddy Hield. He was also the assistant basketball coach at his high school alma mater Edmond Memorial (Okla.) for four years.

Young played a season in the German Regionalliga before the pandemic halted his playing career in 2020. He then spent 2 years as a Graduate Assistant Coach at Colorado State University where he had a hand in all aspects of the program including player development. This past season Young was back in Oklahoma as a coach at Edmond Santa Fe HS.
